Welcome to Lexington, the birthplace of American Liberty. Our town has a proud tradition of hosting visitors from throughout the nation and around the world who come here to walk in the footsteps of our nation’s first patriots.

The citizens of Lexington look forward to sharing our heritage with you.

Lexington offers visitors a multitude of educational and entertaining opportunities to experience our Revolutionary past: three historic houses, the National Heritage Museum and Minute Man National Historical Park as well as guided tours of the Battle Green and on the Liberty Ride to visit the historic sites of Lexington and Concord.

Patriots Day Celebrations

Every April on the third Monday of the month, the Battle of Lexington is commemorated and a moving tribute is paid to those patriots who first fell on Lexington Green on the morning of April 19, 1775. A full range of activities is planned that include historical reenactments, parades, the Liberty Ride, pancake breakfasts, and a road race.

The highlight is the reenactment of the Battle of Lexington, performed by members of the Lexington Minute Men Company and His Majesty's Tenth Regiment of Foot. Staged annually at 5:45 A.M. on Monday morning, the event evokes the revolutionary spirit that signaled the start of the American Revolution.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early at all events for best viewing.

A schedule of events is posted in the spring.
