• Lexington Depot Museum Grand Opening and Open House

    In April 2025, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington, Lexington Historical Society will become Lexington History Museums, and open a new museum in the very center of town! Our new museum, The Lexington Depot, will tell diverse and sometimes surprising stories of people who have lived, worked, and played here. Through displays and interactive exhibits, meet architects, farmers, activists, musicians, and others who have shaped our town through the years. Join us and discover our shared stories.

  • Revolutionary Lexington: Colonial Homes Tour

    Step inside several historic homes and see and learn about many more as we tour Lexington! Our tour will highlight many homes that witnessed the infamous Battle of Lexington and Concord 250 years ago, including the house where Paul Revere warned John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British were coming. Learn about a great selection of other colonial buildings, their period details, and the interesting people who have called them home over the centuries!

  • 50th Anniversary Celebration and Rededication

    Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library 33 Marrett Road, LEXINGTON, MA, United States

    The Museum of Our National Heritage opened on April 20, 1975. The museum, now known as the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library, was a Bicentennial gift to the nation from the Scottish Rite Freemasons of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. Join us on Sunday, April 13, 2025, to kick off the museum’s 50th anniversary celebration!

    This special event will feature a rededication of the museum as well as the opportunity to see the museum’s two new gallery exhibitions: “Protest & Promise: The American Revolution in Lexington” and “Looking Back, Moving Forward: 50 Years of Collecting.” This event launches a year of celebratory anniversary programming, including gallery talks, engaging lectures, and new exhibitions.
