SUMMARY:NEW DATE: "In The Footsteps of the American Revolutionary War" Artist Talk with Steven Edson
DESCRIPTION:The 250th anniversary of the American Revolution has prompted locals to revisit and reconsider our town landmarks. Bare fields and unassuming streetcorners hold stories that only the most ardent history lovers remember\, some marked with worn signs and others nearly lost to time. Others teem with tour guides and attract visitors from near and far. Steven Edson’s photography of these modern Revolutionary locations\, currently on display at Munroe Tavern urges the public to reconsider the spaces they drive by and inhabit every day. Join the artist for a discussion of this project\, our relationship with the historical landscape around us\, and further images from this collection.\n  \n6:00 – 7:00: Exhibit closing reception and artist interaction.\n  \n7:00 – 8:30: Lecture with Steven Edson\n  \nFree! Registration is required.\n  \n\n  \nAbout the Artist:\n  \nSteven Edson started photographing in the early 1970s\, shooting primarily black and white documentary street photography. After graduating with a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design\, he became a successful and award-winning freelance photographer working on project-based client international projects in editorial\, education\, corporate design\, and advertising campaigns. He currently shows his fine art images in solo and national group shows and sells his images to both corporate collections and personal collectors.

SUMMARY:Lexington Legacy 5K Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:The Lexington Legacy 5k run/walk will be held this year on Small Business Saturday\, November 29th at 9am.In 2008\, the Lexington High School Cross Country / Track & Field program hosted its first annual “Alumni Race” on the same\, nearly all-road course the team has called home since 1970. Over the last 17 years\, with the support of athletes\, coaches\, and parent volunteers our tradition has grown into an event that allows us to share the sport we love with the larger community. All proceeds will go to support the LHS Cross Country / Track & Field team. The course offers a very spectator friendly layout. Spectators can view participants at the start\, then walk no more than 400 meters to the one-mile mark. Participants loop back to that exact location just after the two-mile mark. Spectators can then walk back to Lincoln Field to catch participants as they finish.

SUMMARY:30th Annual GenesisHR BattleGreen Run
DESCRIPTION:This annual tradition is celebrated by the local community for both the spirit of the event and the incredible fundraising achieved by participants for local nonprofits. \nWe will run as a community on Sunday\, November 2nd @ 12:15 PM to raise money for a number of deserving nonprofits. Choose from a 5K walk\, 2k walk\, 5K run or (almost)10K run….OK it’s only 9.857k…we just want to start and end in the same place. If you prefer to maintain social distancing or just can’t make it to Lexington on race day you can participate virtually. \nLast year\, more than $160\,000 was awarded\, which was a record for us. This year\, given that it is our 30th annual event\, we expect a much larger crowd. Volunteers are critically important for our event to run smoothly! \nLearn more: www.battlegreenrunfoundation.org
