SUMMARY:Revolutionary Lexington: Colonial Homes Tour
DESCRIPTION:Step inside several historic homes and see and learn about many more as we tour Lexington! Our tour will highlight many homes that witnessed the infamous Battle of Lexington and Concord 250 years ago\, including the house where Paul Revere warned John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British were coming. Learn about a great selection of other colonial buildings\, their period details\, and the interesting people who have called them home over the centuries! \nInterior stops include a stately colonial-turned-Greek Revival that was home to a French political refugee\, a circa 1735 home used by the British as a field hospital\, and “The House on the Hill” a.k.a. the home built by Revolutionary soldier David Lane. \nJoin us for this unique experience to see historic homes\, inside and out\, and immerse yourself in culture and history. Offered one time only! Space is limited. \nThis is a guided bus tour. Parking and bus departure/return at Cotting School\, 453 Concord Avenue\, Lexington\, MA.

SUMMARY:COMING TO AMERICA concert
DESCRIPTION:COMING TO AMERICA\nSATURDAY\, APRIL 26\, 2025 | 7:30PM\nPRE-CONCERT CONDUCTOR’S TALK AT 6:30PM\nSponsored by Kip Connor & Linh Vong. Pipa soloist is sponsored by Bin Wu and Family in recognition of the Chinese American Association of Lexington. \nHewitt | The Battle of Trenton\nWu\, Wang\, Liu | Little Sisters of the Prairie\nWu\, Liu | Spring River Flowers and Moonlight Night\n-Cao Yue\, pipa\nDecruck | Symphonie Orientale\nÓ Riada | Mise Éire \nOur season finale opens with James Hewitt’s The Battle of Trenton and explores the attitudes\, mistakes and reasons people emigrated to America. Those stories are represented through the music immigrants brought with them\, enriching our nation despite the challenges they faced. While the stories are as varied as was America’s attitude toward immigrants\, these stories are important because all those who came to America looked for a new beginning and hope for the future — which has been America’s promise.
