Built in East Lexington in 1716 and moved to its present site in 1946. Not to be confused with The Robbins House in Concord, MA, which was inhabited by African-Americans in the 18th and 19th centuries, this house in Lexington is rumored to have been a station on the Underground Railroad before and during the Civil War. Stephen Robbins, the original owner, was largely responsible for developing Lexington’s East Village into the economic and industrial center of town for many years.
