Summer Blooms in Lexington Gardens
June 2, 2025
In June, flowers are in full bloom, and several local farms and stores offer many varieties to pick from. Explore Lexington gardens and farms, where you’ll find your perfect bouquet.
Wilson Farm
At Wilson Farm, you’ll find a wide selection of plants and flowers to enjoy, including native plants and rare varieties. In their open-air nursery, you’ll find flowers like hibiscus, African violet, dahlia, calla lily, fuchsia, azalea, andromeda, heliotrope, exacum, lilac bushes, and geraniums. The farm also has a garden shop that offers hanging plants, tabletop plants, floor plants, air purifying plants, indoor flowers, succulents, cacti, vines, summer bulbs, ferns, and tropical plants.
Munroe Tavern
Munroe Tavern has three gardens maintained by the Lexington Field and Garden Club: the Garden of Colonial Flowers, the Rose Garden, and the Wildflower or Native Plant Garden. The Garden of Colonial Flowers includes simple, unimproved, open-pollinated flower species that were grown by Boston gardeners during the mid-to-late 1700s. The restored Rose Garden features species brought from Spain or the Middle East generations ago. The Wildflower or Native Plant Garden includes a large trillium collection, plants, ferns, and shrubs that bloom during the spring. Munroe Tavern and the three gardens are open from the end of March to the beginning of November.
Lexington Community Farm
This non-profit organic farm stretches across more than seven acres. Starting in July, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) members can pick an average of 24 stems per week for 12 consecutive weeks at the farm. For those who are non-members, you can purchase flowers when they are in season during the spring or summer months.
