Five Lexington Stores for Your Next Shopping Trip
May 14, 2024
In downtown Lexington, you’ll find the town’s shopping center filled with retail stores, museum gift shops, and restaurants. No matter what you are looking for on your next shopping trip, Lexington has got you covered with these five shops.
Buckman Tavern Gift Shop
The Buckman Tavern was originally established in 1710 as a gathering place for locals and travelers, and the main site of important town meetings. On April 19, 1775, Captain Parker and his militia spent the early morning waiting for the oncoming British troops. While this tavern now operates as a museum with rotating exhibitions, the space also has a gift shop. Here you can find an endless variety of collectibles, books, apparel, homewares, and other historic treasures.
Michaelson’s Shoes
This family shoe store has been passed down for generations since its beginnings in Lexington Center in 1919. Now, the store has another location in Needham, MA.
At Michelson’s Shoes, you’ll find a unique assortment and a wide variety of sizes for men, women, and children. Its shop employees are known for their great customer service and will work tirelessly to match customers with the right shoe. In an interview with current owner Eric Michelson, he said, “It’s important to meet customer needs for long-term loyalty, while also keeping the shopping experience fresh and current.”
Battle Road Bikes
Are you an avid biker looking to ride the Minuteman Bikeway? Visit Battle Road Bikes. Whether you need maintenance, repairs, accessories, a new bike, or are interested in taking part in a bike tour, they have got you covered.
In an interview with owner Jim Cadenhead, he shared that his goal for opening Battle Road Bikes was to “serve the local community while creating a destination shop for everyone, from passionate riders to tourists looking for an active way to explore all the area has to offer on rented bikes or guided tours.”
Center Goods
At Center Goods, you can explore eco-friendly, plastic-free, and sustainable items. Shop from different selections like skin care, cleaning products, tableware, produce and tote bags, and fun little accessories. The store also offers you the chance to bring in any kind of container to refill hand soap, shampoo, lotion, laundry detergent, and so much more. If you’re interested in helping decrease your carbon footprint, try out Center Goods.
Berman’s Wine & Spirits
For the wine enthusiast, Lexington’s family-run Berman’s Wine & Spirits carry “highly regarded, limited production wines from around the globe.” The store has over 100 years of providing Lexington customers with different varieties of wine. Each bottle of wine is selected based on around 50 years of tasting experience. At Berman’s, you’ll never find the same kind of wine since its selection is always changing.
