Soak in the sun and venture to Lexington, MA, and enjoy all the fun events happening in May.  

East Lexington Mural and Area Activation Project 

Join the Town of Lexington Economic Development Office on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Visitors Center lawn for the East Lexington Mural and Area Activation Project. Artists Melissa Pandina and Gabriela Sepulveda will lead you in a one-of-a-kind painting experience where you can add your artistic touch to one of Lexington’s three murals. This event is part of a bigger project that supports the revitalization of exterior retail facades that face the Minuteman Bikeway.   

Fife and Drum Music Festival

Head to another event on May 3, 2025, with the Fife and Drum Music Festival. This free event runs from 12 pm to 4 pm at Hastings Park. Hosted by the William Diamond Junior Fife & Drum Corps of Lexington, this event begins with a 250th-anniversary wreath-laying ceremony on the Lexington Battle Green. It includes live music and entertainment by two dozen fife and drum corps representing different eras of Lexington’s history, including the Revolutionary Era. 

Songs of Liberty: Echoes of 1775

The Lexington Pops Chorus will make their return to the stage on May 16, 2025, at 7:30 pm and Sunday, May 18th, 2025, at 3 pm with their performance titled “Songs of Liberty: Echoes of 1775.” This concert celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord and features the following pieces:

  • “Testament of Freedom” by Randall Thompson
  • “An American Trilogy” arranged by Mark Hayes
  • “Missa Brevis St. Joannis de Del” by Joseph Haydn
  • “Dear Theodosia” from Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda
  • “Sleep” by Eric Whitacre
  • “Five Hebrew Love Songs” by Eric Whitacre
  • “Les Miserables” arr. by Ed Lojeski

Due to construction at Hancock Church, the concert will be held at The Pilgrim Congregational Church at 55 Coolidge Ave.  

Biennial State of Clay Ceramic Exhibit 

Catch the famous State of Clay exhibit in Massachusetts on May 18, 2025, at LexArt from 2 to 5 pm. This free event is a juried show open to original and innovative ceramic work by current and former residents of Massachusetts. The show hopes to broaden the public awareness of contemporary ceramic art and provide a venue for Massachusetts’s clay artists.
