Join LexSeeHer for America’s 250th! The event runs from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm and includes the Reenactment of Anna Harrington’s 1769 Spinning Protest at 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by the formal ceremony honoring the LexSeeHer 2026 Women’s Visibility Banner Honorees. Throughout the event, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., everyone is invited to join the Stitch-A-Thon. Share supplies from LexSeeHer, or bring your own as we collectively share many forms of stitching to pay tribute to the importance of textiles in America’s history. Anna and 45 “Ladies” spun their own yarn as an act of defiance against the King, refusing to pay unwelcome taxes. Whether as a form of resistance, to meet practical needs of survival, to express ourselves, or to communicate, textiles have played a critical role in America’s history. We will see if our efforts on August 29 match the yardage of the 1769 women and girls who helped change the trajectory of our lives.
