With origins dating back to 1682, the First Parish Church was erected in 1692 with variations in the building location and size over the next 330 years. Much of Lexington’s storied history can be traced to the First Parish Church, including Town Meeting, events of April 19th 1775, notable Black residents, and changes in resident’s religious affiliations.
