A Lexington Summer Bucket List
June 25, 2025
Summertime is a great season to cross things off your bucket list. Haven’t made a bucket list yet? Here are four fun ideas.
Go on a Tour
Summer is the perfect time to go on a Lexington walking tour. Check out the Battle Green Tour, a one-hour guided walking tour where a guide will lead you through all the notable sites and historic houses around the Lexington Battle Green. The Liberty Ride Trolley Tour is a 90-minute tour where you will ride a trolley and learn about the Battles of Lexington and Concord. And, you can have a personalized experience with a Lexington Charter Tour.
Listen to Live Music at Emery Park
Each summer, the Lexington Chamber of Commerce hosts a free summer concert series at Emery Park in Depot Square every Friday from July 11 to August 22. The series usually begins at the beginning of July and runs through the end of August. Last year’s concerts featured military music, classic big band, Americana, blues, Rock & Roll, R&B, Jazz, Country, Motown, and Showtunes.
Have a Picnic at the Lexington Visitors Center Lawn
The Lexington Visitors Center lawn offers you a peaceful setting while surrounded by Revolutionary War Monuments. Across the street from the lawn is the Lexington Battle Green, where the Battle of Lexington took place on April 19, 1775; Captain John Parker lined his men up on the open green space, waiting for the British Regulars. Plus, if you didn’t bring your meal with you, grab takeout at many of the nearby restaurants.
Need a bathroom break? The Lexington Visitor Center is just across the street.
Watch a Sunset at Belfry Hill

Belfry Hill in Lexington, MA, is home to the famous Old Belfry, built in 1762, which summoned people to worship and warned them of danger. The bell played an important role on the morning of April 19, 1775, when the Belfry rang its bell and summoned the local militia to assemble on the common and prepare for the British soldiers. Belfry Hill is a great place to watch a sunset, as it offers an elevated position for you to enjoy picturesque views of greenery.
Visit the Lexington Farmer’s Market
Checking out a farmer’s market is one of the best summer activities. The Lexington Farmer’s Market is open every Tuesday from 2 pm to 6:30 pm at the Worthen Road Practice Field. At the market, you’ll find a range of products, from baked goods to beverages, produce, meat, poultry, fish, prepared foods, and specialty foods. Stop by during your visit to Lexington and grab some fresh produce or baked goods. And meet us (the Lexington Visitors Center) on June 17, July 15, and August 19.
