January 14, 2025

Lexington is a great place to visit in the winter months. From outdoor activities to amazing culinary experiences to art-related activities, there’s always something to do.
Take a Cooking Class at the Inn at Hastings Park
If you call yourself a foodie, join Inn at Hastings Park owner and Le Cordon Bleu London graduate Trisha Pérez Kennealy for a culinary cooking class. Throughout the year, the Inn offers both a monthly Supper Club Series and Immersive Cooking Weekends. For the Supper Club Series, the event begins at 6 pm and guests are served welcome bubbles and appetizers. Then, Kennealy will lead guests through cooking a three-course sit-down dinner with wine pairings. In the Immersive Cooking Weekends series, guests will stay at the Inn for the weekend and take part in a three-day culinary experience that includes cooking demonstrations and a four-course tasting dinner. Walk, Hike, Or Cross-Country Ski at Arlington’s Great Meadow
If you’re in the mood for an outdoor adventure, explore Arlington’s Great Meadow which is located adjacent to the Minuteman Bikeway in Lexington. The 183-acre meadow is known as the largest piece of undeveloped land in Lexington and Arlington. The 1.9-mile loop trail is the perfect place to walk, hike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski, and breathe in the cool, fresh winter air.
Grab Some Hot Chocolate at a Nearby Cafe
Take a break from hiking or cross-country skiing by grabbing some hot chocolate (a winter staple) at many of Lexington’s cafes. Plenty of coffee shops throughout the town include hot chocolate on their menu. For those who aren’t big fans of hot chocolate, you’ll also find delicious selections of coffee and tea. Cozy up with your favorite warm beverage and drink to your heart’s content.
Watch a Movie at the Lexington Venue
Check out the Lexington Venue, one of the few remaining small-town movie theaters in Middlesex County. Opened in 1915, this theater offers two screens and shows big pictures and independent films. Here you’ll find concession counter favorites and comfortable seating. This is a great place for families, romantic dates, or even a solo excursion.
