The Lex250 Commission invites the public to Lexington on Oct. 20 for an evening of light and liberty, including a historic-themed drone show. This event marks six months to go until the commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and the start of the American Revolution, April 19, 2025.
Four hundred drones will fly in unique formations, commemorating Lexington’s history in lights. The festivities will also feature the Lexington High School Parade Band, William Diamond Junior Fife & Drum Corps, Chinese American Association of Lexington (CAAL) Enlightened Dragon performance and Lexington Minute Men.
The Weekend of Light will culminate with a procession from the athletic fields to the Lexington Battle Green, where attendees will be given lights and arranged to form “250.” An official overhead drone will photograph the formation, creating a lasting memory of this historic event.
