Lexington Open Studios provides an annual opportunity to foster relationships & connections between artists and the community. This event provides opportunities to view art made within the community; to interact with local artists; and to have access to artists' working spaces. Our goal is to broaden the public's exposure to, and appreciation of, finished works of art as well as the art-making process. This exposure both educates the community and raises awareness of the diverse artistic experience available in Lexington. It has been a year since the Lexington Depot was transformed from a stark white room to a vibrant exhibition space. Thanks to incredible community support, the centuries of family treasures LHM collects and preserves now have a dedicated space that expands the range of stories we tell. Thousands of visitors from all over the world have spent the year learning about the many pieces of history that make Lexington so special. On Saturday, April 11, we want to celebrate this momentous anniversary with you with a free day for Lexington residents! Stop by any time during our new open hours, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM, to explore the full arc of history, from the artists of the 1820s to the soldiers of World War I and beyond, hear a gallery talk, or make a craft to take home.

We have a strict 1,000-runner limit — register early to guarantee your place on the starting line! Why Saturday? To celebrate America 250, the entire town is celebrating on Saturday again! It isn’t just the race; two expanded reenactments, the parade, and the festivities are ALL taking place on Saturday, April 18th this year. This schedule allows you to run the race and enjoy the full scope of the historic festivities, parades, and reenactments before and after crossing the finish line. 📢 A Look Ahead to 2027: A Return to Tradition. Enjoy this special Saturday edition while you can, because tradition returns next year! In 2027 the race will return to its historic home on Patriots' Day Monday—honoring the tradition of the very first race run in 1914.

The battlefield of the Battle of Lexington and Concord is a quarter of a mile wide and 20 miles long, with fighting taking place continually along the road between Concord and Charlestown. Following the morning reenactment on the Green, watch a demonstration of the tactics used along the Battle Road that day. British and Militia reenactors will spar in a variety of terrain in Tower Park, a natural amphitheater with woods, hills, stone walls, and more. A vignette at Munroe Tavern will precede the battle. Please be advised that parking bans will be in place. Tower Park is located one mile from the town center, and walking is highly encouraged. |
