• 2026 Patriots’ Day Reenactment and Parade

    Lexington’s Patriots’ Day celebration commemorates the opening moments of the American Revolution with moving reenactments, solemn ceremonies, and vibrant community events. At dawn, the Battle Green comes alive as militia and British regulars recreate April 19, 1775. Parades, historic homes, music, and family activities follow, honoring courage, sacrifice, and civic pride while welcoming visitors to experience the town’s enduring revolutionary spirit through storytelling, education, reflection, and shared remembrance across generations and communities each historic spring.

    In celebration of America 250, Lexington will present its Patriots' Day Parade on Saturday, April 18, at 1:30 PM (please note the new start time). The step-off point is at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue, and will follow through to Lexington Center, ending at Worthen Road.

    A wide variety of groups, reenactors, marching bands, and much more will be on hand to entertain us. Information relative to and updates for Patriots’ Day Weekend will be posted promptly at www.patriotsday.com.

    Join us for the 112th Annual Patriots Day Road Race on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 8:00 AM.

    Why Saturday? To celebrate America 250, the entire town is celebrating on Saturday again! It isn’t just the race; two expanded reenactments, the parade, and the festivities are ALL taking place on Saturday, April 18th this year. This schedule allows you to run the race and enjoy the full scope of the historic festivities, parades, and reenactments before and after crossing the finish line.

    📢 A Look Ahead to 2027: A Return to Tradition. Enjoy this special Saturday edition while you can, because tradition returns next year! In 2027 the race will return to its historic home on Patriots' Day Monday—honoring the tradition of the very first race run in 1914.

  • Munroe Tavern Reenactment

    Featuring reenactments of the Murder of John Raymond, The Munroe Family Evacuation and the British setting up a field hospital on the front lawn at the Munroe Tavern.

  • Tower Park Reenactment

    Tower Park

    The battlefield of the Battle of Lexington and Concord is a quarter of a mile wide and 20 miles long, with fighting taking place continually along the road between Concord and Charlestown. Following the morning reenactment on the Green, watch a demonstration of the tactics used along the Battle Road that day. British and Militia reenactors will spar in a variety of terrain in Tower Park, a natural amphitheater with woods, hills, stone walls, and more. A vignette at Munroe Tavern will precede the battle. Please be advised that parking bans will be in place. Tower Park is located one mile from the town center, and walking is highly encouraged.
